POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

Queens College / CUNY Office of Continuing Education Programs (CEP) offers non-credit courses and certificate programs in a variety of lifelong learning, professional development, personal growth, and enrichment areas. Students may enroll in individual courses or work toward a certificate or license in their particular area(s) of interest.

Additionally, the Office of Continuing Education Programs oversees Career Services and Workforce Development initiatives as well as Corporate and Contract Training under its Educational Programs and Workforce Development Department.

Reporting directly to the Director of Educational Programs and Workforce Development, the Assistant Director will provide general day-to-day managerial and administrative oversight and coordinate all activities of the Educational Programs and Workforce Development Department ensuring that all functions of the Department run smoothly and efficiently.

In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director assumes full managerial and administrative responsibility for the Department. Other Duties: The responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Educational Programs and Workforce Development will include, but are not limited to:

? Assist in conceptualizing, developing, and implementing new educational programs and corporate/contract training initiatives. ? Coordinate the administrative aspects of all educational and certificate programs offerings, as well as contracts with corporate clients. ? Work collaboratively with educational coordinators to troubleshoot problems in regard to course scheduling and cancellations, as well as teacher and student-related concerns. ? Manage existing off-site corporate and educational-related contracts and cultivate potential new ones. ? Facilitate the review and evaluation of the Departments education programs, corporate contracts, and career services and job placement activities. ? Assist in interviewing and hiring new program coordinators, educational instructors and/or site coordinators as necessary. ? Coordinate professional development activities for educational coordinators and instructional staff. ? Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of Department. ? Attend off-campus meetings and networking events. ? Develop and prepare reports on activities of the Department as necessary. ? Assist Director with educational and corporate projects as well as special events as required. ? Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Programs and Workforce Development.Salary:$42,500 - $47,500 Core Competencies/Qualifications: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business Management, Administration or related discipline and four years of experience in an educational, corporate, marketing, and/or healthcare-related field. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and complex work environment carrying out diverse assignments and adapting to changing situations and priorities.

Must possess xcellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as experience working with diverse populations and intergenerational students. The successful candidate will be computer literate with knowledge of the internet, database management, as well as Windows-based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must be willing and have the ability to travel to off-site locations and client offices as required (reimbursement of personal automobile expenses provided per standard negotiated rates). Occasional evenings and weekends required. Position will remain open until filled.
