General Description: The Creative Arts Team (CAT), founded in 1974, is the award-winning international leader in Applied Theatre ? drama as a catalyst for learning. CAT is in residence as a university-wide program of the nations largest urban public university, The City University of New York. Each year, 12,000 NYC young people, ages three to 21, participate in CATs interactive workshops on literacy, conflict resolution, AIDS awareness and prevention, and other important topics. Through CATs Kaplan Center for Educational Drama, 1,000 educators, artists, and parents annually enroll in our professional development workshops and our new M.A. in Applied Theatre, the first in the nation.
CAT seeks two people to provide administrative support to Program Directors. Each position is ten hours per week, and will be based at the Creative Arts Teams offices at 101 W 31 Street. Other Duties: 1) Provide administrative support to the Program Director in the day- to-day functioning of the office: * Place and respond to voice and email messages as required. * Draft/reply to correspondence as requested or in response to common inquiries for audition/employment * Organize and maintain actor resume files * Copy and distribute materials as requested. * Maintain filing systems for current and past documents 2) Provide administrative support and coordination for residencies, special projects, trainings, and workshops: * Research information; make necessary contacts; liase and coordinate with other organizations, departments (e.g. DOH, NYU Law School, CUNY Prep, College Now) * Assist with planning and implementation of meetings * Organize props and costumes as appropriate * Type/copy notes, scripts, and other materials for residencies, workshops, and rehearsals 3) Collect and file paperwork for actor residencies, staff developments, special projects, etc 4) Offer on-site residency support to actor-teachers, as appropriateSalary:$15/hour - 10 hours/week Core Competencies/Qualifications: * Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate day-to-day projects and assignments * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines * Proficient in use of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes Position will remain open until filled.
