General Description: The Workforce1 Career Center provides New York City job seekers with professional career, employment and training services that prepare them to conduct successful job searches and enter their career of choice. The Account Manager is responsible for outreaching to employers to ensure job placement opportunities for customers; guiding customers on job search techniques and the necessary modifications in their job search behavior or materials to facilitate their success; monitoring customer job retention. S /he works effectively with other account managers, career advisors, and administrative staff to ensure the smooth referral of customers from career advisors or training programs to employment services. Other responsibilities include identifying and building relationships with new employers and targeting appropriate industries to increase job placement opportunities which match customers? skills, training, and interests that result in long-term retention. Other Duties: • Develops and maintains effective relationships with employers and system-wide cohort of account managers. • Conducts group and individual interviews with customers for job placement opportunities. • Contacts appropriate customers when a job order is placed and maintains effective communication with employers. • Tracks referrals to assess and report outcomes. • Provides support to customers and employers to achieve retention. • Uses effective strategies to help place customers who were formerly incarcerated or with other perceived barriers to employment. • Anticipates placement needs based upon customer participation in training programs. • Utilizes monthly reports to monitor success and implement strategies to improve performance. • Motivates customers to persist in the job search process.Salary:$42,000 - $47,000 Core Competencies/Qualifications: BA preferred. Must have knowledge of effective job placement and recruitment practices; strong knowledge of job search and retention strategies. Ability to meet performance expectations. Strong computer skills required; knowledge of MS Office and database systems. Able to conduct effective individual and group interactions. Must be energetic, well organized and committed to the goals of the WF1CC. Excellent customer service and oral and written skills. Bilingual speaker preferred. Experienced and skilled in working with a diverse population Position will remain open until filled.
