Description CITI MARKETS & BANKING Senior Vice President, Corporate Tax Department Withholding and Reporting Group

The Finance Division acts as a strategic partner across business lines. Professionals within the division work closely with the management teams of the Firm’s many departments, adding value to the firm’s operations through strategic analysis and hands-on participation in planning and in process redesign. The Finance Division is broken down into Treasury, Tax, Financial Control and Reporting, Accounting Policy and Strategy and Planning. The Corporate Tax Department manages the Firm’s tax position, from planning and compliance through audit and legal issues on a federal, state, local and foreign level. The group is ultimately responsible for the appropriateness of tax products and works closely with other departments to structure client tax-oriented services. As part of Citi’s Markets and Banking segment, the Tax Department is also responsible for matters affecting the banking, lending and investment services. The position is part of a dynamic team responsible for advising the business and operations on compliance with U.S. and foreign information reporting and withholding tax requirements. The tax coverage is primarily Citi’s global brokerage, custody, depositary receipts, agency/trust, fund services, cash management and trade finance businesses. RESPONSIBILITES: * Researching the U.S. tax treatment of financial instruments and corporate actions; * Responding to queries from the business on specific client situations; * Reviewing and validating client tax certifications; * Guiding the development of operational procedures to insure compliance with the applicable tax laws; * Guiding the preparation and filing of information returns.

Specifications / Qualifications REQUIREMENTS: * Undergraduate degree required, in accounting, business or finance preferred; * Graduate degree in Law and/or Taxation or CPA license, highly preferred; * Minimum five years experience in information reporting and withholding tax matters; * Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in dealing with all levels of the organization; * Must have excellent research and problem-solving skills; * Ability to work well under pressure, managing multi tasks with changing priorities within a large complex organization required.
