Manager of Strategy - Global Client Group Responsibilities Reporting to the Director in charge of the Corporate Services Global Client Group (GCG), the Manager will be working on strategic planning related to the Commercial Card business. The Manager will support the core business objectives of client retention, margin improvement and spend growth through the detailed analysis of key business strategies. The Manager will also participate in the annual budgeting and investment planning process (SQP). Specifically, the Manager will have responsibility for analyzing portfolio market share, segmenting industries by potential spend and other factors, partnering with Establishment Services to develop a strategy regarding merchant acceptance, analyzing sales force effectiveness, and developing a monthly scorecard for tracking performance against goals. The Manager will also be expected to remain abreast of changes in the marketplace and proactively develop plans to respond appropriately to potential opportunities or challenges. The Global Client Group is responsible for managing and expanding American Express Corporate Card and Corporate Purchasing Card relationships with approximately 150 global and multinational companies around the world. Required Qualifications Relevant Background . MBA with strong academic record, Strategy or International Business concentration with a strong quantitative background . Experience in Consulting, Finance, Business analysis Marketing, Project Management or General Management . Experience in one of our target industries (charge/credit card, finance, retail, travel, services, interactive) which can be utilized in the development of strategy . Full life cycle project management experience Valued Skills . Strong customer focus and fully developed project management skills . Ability to conceptualize and sell ideas internally .
