We are a 75 million dollar staffing firm specialized in IT working with most of the major financial institutions. I am working on a Business Analyst position. Below is the job description to look at. My client is one of the largest European corporate and investment banks with a location in Midtown Manhattan and in over 45 countries. Their expertise is in 3 core products: Euro Capital Markets, Derivative Products and Structured Finance.

OVERVIEW



The technology group that supports the Fixed Income Currencies & Commodities (FICC) business line is ITEC/FIC. Within ITEC/FIC there are six subdivisions. ITEC/FIC/MFM is the subdivision that supports the Front Office (FO) applications. There are four groups within ITEC/FIC/MFM that supports various FO trading applications. At present the Summit team supports three user groups, the Guaranteed Investment Contract (GIC) desk, the International Accounting Standard (IAS) middle office and the FIC Analytics team. The GIC desk primarily uses Summit for managing their positions (i.e., Risk, MTM, operation reports, etc). The IAS MO relies on Summit to conduct their Fair Value Hedge Assessments. Finally, the FIC Analytics team primarily utilizes Summit to produce risk analysis for the FIC desks. The Summit team is composed of four programmer and two business analysts.



RESPONSIBILITIES


Business analyst person will be required to work with various functions of the business (front, back office and Risk), the vendor (Summit) and their technology team during many stages of the project. Some of the responsibilities are listed below:
