This person will report to the CBS Radio Engineering Manager and work with the General Manager, Program Management, Station I.T., Promotions Department, and On-Air Staffs. CBS Radio is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Responsibilities: Works with Engineering Manager to insure compliance with applicable Federal Communications Rules - includes: PROTECT THE LICENSE, Performs duties as Chief Operator as defined in FCC Rules, Works with staff and program director and persons who maintains the Public File to insure FCC Rules compliance; In conjunction with Engineering Manager performs maintenance and engineering functions in a manner that leads to delivering 24/7, 100%% up-time reliability of radio stations’ transmission systems (no unscheduled off-air time); Performs the functions of engineering maintenance of studios, digital mass storage systems, STLs, and transmitter plants (main and aux); Performs his duties in a neat, orderly manner that insures that the station’s technical facilities are maintained in accordance with good engineering practice; As directed by the Engineering Manager may be called upon to prepare reports, document the wiring of the facility, purchase supplies and equipment; As necessary may be needed to perform duties at other CBS Radio properties; work on remotes; Aids in the maintenance and repairs of the office, studio, and transmitter telephone systems; Orders, and coordinates all common-carrier telephone company services such as from telecom suppliers as directed; Maintains studio automation and audio playback systems, and transmitter computer systems; Administers as directed: Budgets, capital project requests, and purchase orders; Purchase of equipment and maintenance supplies; on-call 24/7 for emergency repairs, maintenance, and installation of new broadcast facilities and equipment; Other duties as directed. Required Skills/Experience Required: Five years broadcast engineering experience in studio, RF systems, telecom and digital mass storage systems. A valid drivers license is required. Minimum two years technical school, and SBE certification are preferred. Minimum Education Level Vocational Job Status Full Time
