Area Overview NRAS is a national IT organization technical competency center, focused on providing cost effective, enterprise-level mobile and remote access services to the Federal Reserve System. NRAS is the central authority for all mobility-related initiatives. NRAS develops policies, guidelines, standards and roadmaps for mobile devices, platforms, and software. NRAS Wireless supports the infrastructure for over 4000+ BlackBerry handheld devices, while NRAS Dev offers mobile application development expertise to development groups throughout the system. NRAS VPN supports IPSec and SSL VPN gateways for remote access. NRAS VPN provides end-point, 2-factor, and smartcard security technology for laptops and desktops. NRAS also participates in R&D endeavors in all facets of mobile technology, such as Mobile .NET, and evaluations of independent mobile solutions, such as TeleNav and Google Mobile.

Job Responsibilities

* Assist in identifying potential mobile applications; * Apply various application development techniques to design and develop application prototypes across mobile platforms; * Create application documentation and user manuals; * Perform testing of mobile device capabilities; and * Identify security risks and perform testing against those risks.

Job Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience; * Business analysis skills, experience in complex applications and systems design; * Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills; * Mobile technology - BlackBerry, Windows Mobile * Java, especially J2ME * .NET, especially .NET Compact Framework * PHP, ASP, JSP, Cold Fusion or other web scripting engine * XML, HTML * Apache, IIS, WebSphere * Web Services * Lotus Domino * Relational databases and SQL; * IPSec and/or SSL VPN principles is a plus; and * Smartcard and 2-factor technology background is a plus.
