Description: The Associate Pre-Production Manager actively participates as a member of a Global Production Team that is responsible for the execution and communication of a global development and sampling strategy for a department that supports Design’s vision and that meets or exceeds financial goals. He/She coordinates and manages the activities of a Pre-Production Department, classification or key programs, depending on the scope and complexity. The Associate Production Manager might have Assistant Production Managers as his/her Direct Reports. He/She also works closely with peers in Gap Intl. Sourcing Offices, SF Production and other Corporate support functions to execute the seasonal product strategy. * In Season Management/Production Management Develop and execute sample development in partnership with sourcing channels. Manage sampling time/action calendar to meet all department/division milestone dates. Provide recommendations for raw material and garment development sourcing. Collaborate with Technical Design to address construction issues on a program level. Collaborate with Fabric and Trim R & D team to troubleshoot seasonal, style issues. Ensure accuracy of GPMT LAS report. Proof Design generated Bills of Materials. Oversee completion of physical testing. Monitor on-time delivery of development samples. Participate in weekly production status update calls with SF Production and Technical Design. * Financial Management Utilize cost matrix by category to meet program and department level cost/margin goals. Manage initial development costing process with GIS to target cost and IMU goals. Gather information on liabilities and present solutions to Manager. * Product Placement Understand and collaborate with SF Production on department hindsight and forecasting process. Manage development package process. Develop an action plan for pre-placement open issues. * People and Relationship Management Develop Assistant Production Manager. Developing Direct reports through: -Formal training -Behavioral (feedback, modeling) -On-The-Job training -Coaching -Utilization of tools Manage Self-Development by: -Establish a development plan with Supervisor. -Develop relationship with Mentors, Peers, and all Sourcing Channels. * Special Projects Drive results for Corporate and Brand initiatives.

* Knowledge of Production: Manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric and garment construction. * Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, web-based applications. * Understanding of cross-functional dependencies. * Effectively communicate in written and verbal form * Detail oriented with strong follow through; Organize and prioritize multiple projects * Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks * Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills. * Use basic retail math needed to determine costs, margins and turn * Influence others; Negotiation skills * Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and develop employees through formal and on-the-job training * Create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals * Ability to react to change * Solicit feedback/self-development * 4 Year Bachelors Degree preferred * 2 Years Production experience * * International travel required.
