Key Accountabilities Associates are assigned to transaction teams, working with our industry and product experts on deals with some of the leading corporate and institutional organizations on the continent. Associates are involved in a wide variety of transactions, including equity and debt financings, mergers, acquisitions and other financial advisory assignments. A key component of our program is the orientation and training we provide for Associates. This approach ensures all new Associates are properly introduced to and prepared to work with the breadth of financial products and services inherent to the RBC Capital Markets platform. Key Accountabilities: Requirements In selecting new Associates, we look for individuals with outstanding academic records, demonstrated analytical skills and a diversity of extracurricular activities. Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership qualities, initiative and the ability to function as a key team member in a fast-paced and challenging environment are also essential. Candidates must be in the final year of a two-year MBA or equivalent program and should have had a least two years full-time work experience prior to pursuing postgraduate studies. Most importantly, candidates must demonstrate a desire to learn and an eagerness to make a meaningful contribution to the team environment at RBC Capital Markets. Summer Associate Positions Another important part of RBC Capital Markets Associate program involves hiring candidates for summer positions. The qualifications for these positions are the same as those for the Associate program, except that candidates must be entering the final year of their program in the fall. Summer candidates are also sometimes accepted into the regular Associate program following graduation.
