Description: Duties: Select and monitor FoF investments: Source, perform due diligence on and propose for potential investment new hedge fund managers that invest in relative value and niche strategies. For the purpose of clarification, “niche strategies” are those strategies taking exposure to non-traditional asset classes, such as: catastrophe bonds (reinsurance risk), weather derivatives, carbon emission credits, life settlements, and certain areas of structured credit. Perform due diligence on existing managers. Build models to conduct quantitative analyses on the underlying hedge fund investments. Write memos summarizing the key investment insights and conclusions from manager meetings. Evaluate and monitor underlying hedge fund managers%%27 investment and non-investment risk. Select and monitor seed investments: Monitor the existing portfolio of Bear Stearns Asset Management’s seeded hedge funds, which invest in CMBS, Mid Cap Long/Short Equity and Market Neutral strategies. Source, perform due diligence on and negotiate terms with potential new hedge fund managers for seed investment. Evaluate and monitor underlying seeded hedge fund managers%%27 investment and non-investment risk. Minimum education required:Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Management, Finance or related field. %%0A %%0A Minimum experience required: 2 years of experience in Seeded Hedge Funds or related experience.%%0A %%0A Skills required:Must have a deep understanding of financial markets and the seeding marketplace; strong understanding of “niche strategies,” such as: catastrophe bonds (reinsurance risk), weather derivatives, carbon emission credits, life settlements, and certain areas of structured credit; strong understanding of CMBS, Mid Cap Long/Short Equity and Market Neutral strategies; experience drafting investment memo’s and presenting investment theses.
