A division of Kaplan Test Prep and Kaplan Inc., Kaplan K12 works closely with our school partners to build proficiency in reading and mathematics, improve performance on state tests, and increase college opportunities. The K12 division is a fast paced and rapidly growing part of Kaplans business.
Kaplan K12 Learning Services is looking for experienced elementary-level educators to oversee the development of custom curriculum materials for use in urban school districts. Responsibilities of the Associate Curriculum Manager include the following:
Curriculum Content . Analyze state standards and assessments and available resources to understand district needs . Working closely with Senior Curriculum Manager, manage development of standards-aligned curriculum materials, including course roadmaps for year-long curricula, lesson planning materials, and assessments . Provide ongoing feedback and support to curriculum developers . Ensure that curriculum content reflects research-based best practices . Ensure consistency, coherence, and grade-level appropriateness across all materials . Work closely with Senior Curriculum Manager, account management team, editors, designers, and production artists to publish high-quality curriculum, on time . Participate in ongoing professional development (e.g., internal training and conferences) under guidance of Curriculum Director . Assist in the creation of professional development materials for partner districts
Client Partnerships . Collaborate with content-area leaders in partner districts through all stages of development . Attend meetings with district leaders, advisory groups, and classroom teachers . Work closely with Account Manager and Senior Curriculum Manager to provide content-area expertise and leadership to partner districts . Assist Account Managers and Professional Development staff in delivering professional development sessions for district staff
Qualifications . Strong content knowledge, with advanced degree in elementary education, math, or literacy . Three to five years of teaching experience, preferably in urban districts . Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines . Excellent writing and editing skills . Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat . Willingness to occasionally travel . Publishing and/or management experience a plus
