Area Overview The Data Center Relocation Project Staff is the planning group with representatives from the New York Federal Reserve Banks Information Technology, Network and Data Center Operations,Business Systems Development, Markets, as well as the Real Estate and General Services Functions, and is charged with reducing the risks to the Banks data centers and associated business applications. The Data Center Relocation Project Staff is responsible for relocating the primary data centers (Central IT and Markets) to a suitable distance from Manhattan. This will be accomplished by relocating the primary data centers to a newly combined data center located in the East Rutherford Operations Center (EROC). In order to maintain the Banks contingency profile it will also be necessary to relocate the current East Rutherford contingency site to a location with reduced susceptibility to a regional disaster or other contingency event. This will be accomplished by relocating the contingency data center to a new data center located in the Dallas FRB complex. The Data Center Relocation Project Staff has currently a highly-visible and challenging opportunity for an Assistant Project Director to assist with managing the entire data center relocation project.

Job Responsibilities

* Manage quality and timeliness of product and service to satisfy customer requirements and priorities; * Supervise a team of about 12-14 IT analysts and application developers; * Work with technical service providers and stakeholders to manage commitments and deliverables; * Manage and perform requirements gathering, business analysis, and high level design; * Establish a Project Management Office for the DCR Project; * Develop project proposals including cost/time estimates, risks and dependencies; * Update management on project status and measures of success; * Ensure compliance with Bank and organizational standards; and * Ensure dependable production support for applications supported.

Job Requirements

* Bachelors degree and/or at least eight years of project management experience with project administration TPS; * Strong management skills, including planning, monitoring, intervention, and reporting; * Knowledge of BA applications and distributed processing; * Experience managing large scale projects through all phases; * At least a year experience with financial management; * Strong verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills; * Proven ability to work with all levels of management at all levels; * Demonstrated ability to command and provide respect; * Proven ability to get things done; and * PMP certification, desirable.
