Job Description: Full Time Faculty-Graduate Posting in Accounting As part of one of the largest degree-granting higher education systems in North America, DeVry Institute of Technology and Keller Graduate School of Management offer associate, bachelors and masters degree programs in technology, business and management. The parent company, DeVry Inc. (NYSE: DV) based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, owns DeVry University, which operates as DeVry Institute of Technology and Keller Graduate School of Management in New York. Approximately 55,000 students are enrolled at nearly 90 locations in the United States and Canada, as well as through DeVry University Online. DeVry Institute of Technology is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA). Position Summary Faculty are responsible for facilitating student learning by delivering educational courses and programs in accordance with DeVry University requirements. Faculty develop course syllabi and lesson plans, and apply teaching techniques to best achieve course and programmatic objectives. Reports to the Dean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Develops strategies to teach the course for the entire semester or session, using Keller Graduate School of Management curriculum guides and meeting the universitys academic standards. 2. Develops and provides students with an approved Keller Graduate School of Management syllabus that follows the terminal course objectives. 3. Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials. 4. Utilizes appropriate educational technology to engage students and enhance learning. 5. Connects students current study to real-world applications, using lab and library assignments and linking coursework to previous/future study in related disciplines. 6. Publishes course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories. Ensures that all tests are formatted with proper instructions. Provides advance notice of all major exams. 7. Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives, that the material has been adequately addressed in the course, that concepts have been demonstrated, and that relevant homework has been reviewed. 8. Provides multiple evaluative formats for students to demonstrate their knowledge and earn their grades in the course. 9. Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students. 10. Creates an atmosphere of mutual respect in the classroom by avoiding inappropriate comments about any individual, social group, the university, the company, or competitors. 11. Maintains proper records, grades, reports, and other documents and deliver them in a timely fashion to the appropriate academic administrator. 12. Assists in the training and mentoring of new faculty, and class observations and support of adjunct faculty. 13. Participates in at least one academic initiative designed to support enrollment management, career services, or outreach to the community, including local high schools and community colleges. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills A Ph.D. in Accounting is required and CPA/CFA certification is highly preferred. A minimum of two (2) years teaching at the postsecondary level is highly preferred. Professional experience is required for most programs.
