Job Description: EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED This list of duties is not exhaustive, and duties may be added, deleted or changed at any time, without notice. .Provide daily support to eight (8) Avid edit suites and one (1) Pro-Tools audio room, including digitizing media, importing graphics and exporting sequences to file and various tape formats. .Work directly with in-house Producers to prepare original programming content and/or promos for the post production process. .Conducting maintenance tasks on Avid systems, Unity ISIS Storage device and other shared network server systems. .Making dubs from Avid or tape-to-tape and labeling dubs and masters. .Creating electronic slates in support of edit sessions. .Perform other duties as needed, and as directed by supervisor. REQUIREMENTS Education: Four year degree in Broadcasting/Communications or an equivalent technical degree is required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as an assistant editor within a broadcast level facility. Preferred 2 - 3 years. Equipment: Must have complete and demonstrated working knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Adrenaline and/or Avid Symphony systems. Experience with router control panels, waveform monitors, vector scope, patch panels and professional grade videotape formats is required. Experience with Avid Unity and Avid DS is highly valued, but not required. Skills/Abilities: The right candidate will possess excellent project management skills with a strong work ethic in supervised as well as unsupervised environments. Candidate should also have a complete, working knowledge of the entire offline and online process - from digitizing to tape lay-off of final sequences. The right candidate will be a team player who is methodical, technically capable, precise and able to make decisions effectively. Must possess a good working knowledge of all aspects of the Post Production process. Must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new procedures and skills, and apply them in a technologically dynamic environment. Ability to work evenings, weekends or holidays as needed.
