Position provides Art Direction and sculptural/technical review for product development with freelance sculptors. Produces final digital quote request including manufacturing guidelines and standards. Performs design/product research for use in development of product concepts and manufacturing techniques. Secondary technical/manufacturing liaison responsible for quality control supervision, factory engineering contact. Assists with organization of schedules for freelance talent and direct assigned projects. Overall organization of departmental assets and samples for tradeshows. Performs other assignments as directed by senior team. Requirements College degree in Industrial design and related field or equivalent experience required. 3 to 5 years professional experience in an established collectibles company required in creative direction of sculptural product, toy design and development, including quality control review and approval process. Ability to creatively take a product from concept through manufactured completion required. Strong teamwork and ability to communicate ideas to accomplish departmental goals. Experience in communicating issues with overseas manufacturing vendors a plus. Ability to perform technical review manufacturing designs and quality control review of both resin and PVC based product. Experience with Macintosh computer systems and design software, (especially Photoshop & Illustrator) with the ability to create accurate electronic art direction & corrections. Basic familiarity and appreciation of the comic medium a plus. Experience with digital photography a plus.
