Description: Job Title Area Human Resource Manager, New York and New Jersey Business Stores - Sears State/City NY New York Job Summary The Area Human Resource Manager provides focused HR planning and execution support for stores in a geographic area. Key areas of accountability are HR compliance, recruitment for non-exempt and ASM positions, talent management and HR development and execution. The position serves as a key business partner to the Director of Stores, SGMs, ASMs-Operations and HR/Office Leads, and works closely with the RHRD to build HR capabilities throughout the region. Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Scope: Position is responsible to provide support to 6-8 districts with approximately 50-65 stores. Position requires 50%% travel. Responsibilities Talent Management: Helps coach the store managers to identify future leadership capability to build a bench for lead level associates Provides guidance on ASM/Lead level calibration session process and outcomes Coaches HR/Office Lead to utilize success profiles to attract, select and retain appropriate talent for all hourly positions Supports store managers with recruiting ASM/Lead level talent HR Compliance: Monitors monthly compliance reports, creates action plans for area of responsibility, and prioritizes store visits based on overall compliance opportunities. (i.e. HRCTMS email notification, Missing Document Report, WOTC/I-9 Summary Report, Active Minor Report, RTW Exception Report) Reviews store HR compliance execution through periodic store visits and by conducting a comprehensive annual on-site review Ensures new ASM-Ops and HR/Office Leads are onboarded and trained on HR compliance requirements, policies, and procedures. Monitors monthly completion of tasks and action plans in HRCTMS; alerts ADS and RHRD when corrective measures are required Training/Development: Executes strategy for Corporate HR initiatives related to compliance, recruiting, talent management, and HR development and execution Responsible for identifying HR development opportunities specific to a store/district and responds to those needs by executing both Corporate and local HR business training. Serves as the area advocate for HR related systems that support recruiting, training and compliance (i.e. E-Learning, E-Recruiting, Peoplesoft, intranet, etc.). Leverages HR systems and tools to drive HR execution Monitors E-Learning reports and partners with ASM-Ops and HR/Office Lead to ensure successful and timely completion of compliance, new hire and monthly training Serves as a district facilitator for blended training events Partners with ASM-Ops to create development plans for the HR/Office Leads and provides performance input both formally during annual review process and through the store visit coaching process. Field Recruitment: Monitors non-exempt and ASM requisitions and partners with HR/Office Lead to initiates internet postings via Job Boards and sending out recruitment flyers Places employment ads for non-exempt positions via TMP/on-line field site Establishes and maintains relationships with local affiliations and recruitment sources Execute sourcing strategies. Organizes and participates in local job fairs. Trains ASMs and HR/Office Lead on use of recruitment tools and collateral Partners with SGM during the selection process of HR/Office Leads to ensure that the quality of hire meets the needs of the HR organization Manages ASM job requisitions/offers.
