Description: Requisition ID 08-04046 Job Title Area General Manager Job Category Operations Full / Part-Time Full time - Regular FLSA Status Exempt City New York State / Province NY Country United States Job Description POSITION PROFILE Directs and coordinates activities of the LDS Operations and Sales teams in a defined Area containing 4-6 LDS locations. Directly manages a staff of 8-12 Operations and Sales Managers. Responsible for achieving specific revenue and profit targets in combination with key performance metrics. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Develops and implements long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives. * Defines and communicates sales and operations related policies, procedures and processes related to activities, account strategies, pipeline development, performance expectations, and sales and operations management. * Recruits, hires, trains, motivates, and directs sales and operations management team * Sets an example of an aggressive pace in goal achievement. * Owns the development and fulfillment of diversity hiring goals for the Area * Develops and implements succession planning and retention plans for each location * Creates an environment that fosters synergy between sales and operations teams. * Promotes innovation and creativity to open new markets, retain existing business and develop new products and services * Spends significant time in the field to observe market trends, customer attitudes, effectiveness of sales promotions, productivity of operations staff and to evaluate preparedness, knowledge and training needs of the entire workforce. * Responsible for accurate forecasting of financial results for Area and each location * Understands and articulates strategies of competitors within the area and communicates these strategies to direct reports in a timely manner * Communicates "upward" the market trends, customer attitudes, competitive intelligence and needs of the sales and operations organizations. * Holds direct reports accountable for protecting IKON business from competitive threats and for the expansion and development of existing customer relationships * Ensures compliance with and management of sales force activity tracking systems and operational performance systems and metrics. * Responsible for communicating, implementing and complying with national sales and operations compensation plans. * Frequently participates in sales calls, account planning sessions, and customer account reviews. * Responsible for building strategic relationships with key accounts. * Ensures a "Reference Base" of highly satisfied clients exists in the area. * Analyzes activities, costs and forecast data to ascertain progress toward goal and adjusts approach as required * Develops and implements strategic plans including sales, operational performance, financial performance and new product and services launches. * Manages all financial and performance metrics for the Area including revenue growth, revenue and OI performance to plan, sales/ops headcount and turnover, pipeline of large projects; national account growth; growth of digital service, DSO. * Is actively involved in both the local and industry community including membership in appropriate civic, business and professional organizations * Maintains high-level customer contacts in major accounts. Meets with decision makers in law firms and corporate legal departments. * Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS(Education, Experience and Certifications) * Requires a high level of sales, operations and financial knowledge typically acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in business, marketing or a related field or equivalent business experience * Requires 6-10 years experience managing Sales and/or Operations/Production preferably in multi-unit, transactional environments. * Demonstrated track record of positive growth in revenue, operating income and/or performance metrics preferred.
