Description: Title: AMSEC - Project Manager II- Naval Architecture Category: Program Management Location: New York, NY / USA | Sector: Newport News

Posting ID: NN/060418 Description: Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure goals and objectives. Responsible for the day-to-day activities of managing government contract(s) including ensuring contract compliance and customer interface. Oversees and accountable for project teams and leadership of project, but is not responsible for Profit and Loss (P&L).

Responsible for overseeing a medium size program (engineering, design, production, logistics, etc.) with several components. Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained. Integrates all functions and activities necessary to perform project/program to meet customer requirements. Plans and implements actions by the project team to define and implement technical baseline and meet quality requirements for project/program products and services. Revenue Band typically falls between $1M-$3M, however other components are equated for position aside from revenue. Project/program typically serves single customer and requires coordination of program requirements across planning stages with several subcontractors. Program is contained at a single domestic location.

Skills: Ability to supervise employees. Requires ability to use mathematical functions including percentages, ratios, averages for routine reports, graphs, and matrix. Ability to prepare correspondence and reports. Ability and willingness to perform in critical deadline situations. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to work in a high demand/volume work environment with changing priorities.

Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience; plus 5 years of program or project management experience. Equivalent experience to Bachelors degree = additional 4 years experience.

Physical Requirements: May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.

Position Specific Skills: Graduate Naval Architect , preferably with P.E. licensure. Minimum 15 years experience in all naval architectural disciplines . Management experience a plus. New York City location ; also potential Wash D.C location .*May be required to obtain a DoD security clearance. Security Clearance Required.
