Description: A Mercer Health & Benefits Consultant has direct accountability for the client relationship with regards to strategic health & welfare consulting/advisory services. To fulfill this role, the Consultant will:%%0A%%0A * Establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of client management, and is capable of addressing their concerns and questions%%0A * Keep clients informed of Mercer's capabilities in order to grow and expand existing relationships and to help clients administer their programs more effectively and efficiently%%0A * Cultivate and expand relationships with local and national insurance carriers and vendors%%0A * Identify client objectives and priorities, and communicate them to team members %%0A * Improve clients' brokerage/data reports and assist them with plan design, funding options, claims issues%%0A * Advocate on behalf of the client with vendors and insurers to maximize clients' relationship with them%%0A * Lead strategic planning meetings with clients, including action planning, renewal planning, and management objective setting%%0A * Extract information and draw conclusions from data to interpret trends and anticipate potential problems for clients%%0A * Actively negotiate with insurance carrier representatives and underwriters for client renewals and new business lines of coverage and develop innovative, practical solutions to client problems%%0A * Lead meetings with clients and lead presentations to clients%%0A * Provide mentoring to junior staff %%0A%%0A * 7+ years experience associated with the health and benefits profession; employee benefit underwriting experience is a plus%%0A * 3 years experience in a lead consultant/broker role with middle clients preferred%%0A * Proven project management experience%%0A * Excellent written and oral communication skills%%0A * BA/BS degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Business, Finance or Liberal Arts%%0A
