Position Description: Junior-Level Actuary Position (Actuarial Assistant/Actuarial Analyst) within American International Groupâ?s Domestic Accident & Health Division. Current products include Accidental Death, Dismemberment, Vision, Medical, Disability, Critical Illness, and other A&H products sold through Leisure Travel Markets, Occupational Accident Markets, Specialty Markets, AIG @ Work and Direct Markets. AIGâ?s Domestic A&H actuarial department is involved in a wide range of functions, including product development, pricing, rate filing, financial valuation, projections, M&A analysis, assumed and captive reinsurance, contingent commission calculations, etc. Over time, the goal is to develop well-rounded, business-minded actuaries by exposing each member of the department to the full array of functions. Duties and Responsibilities â• aAssist in the development, pricing, and rate filing of Domestic A&Hâ?s group and individual insurance products and programs â• aTake a lead role in the development, maintenance, and use of the necessary systems and procedures to price, value, and monitor Domestic A&Hâ?s insurance products and programs â• aPerform experience/profitability studies on A&H books of business, including reinsurance arrangements, and contingent commission arrangements â• aAssist in reserve calculation Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required â• aCollege Graduate â• aIdeal candidate will have 1-4 years experience as a member of an actuarial department â• aTwo or more SOA/CAS Courses, working towards FSA/FCAS designation â• aFamiliarity with PC and mainframe systems and applications â• aProficiency with Microsoft Excel; VBA programming skills preferred Skills Required â• aExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skills â• aExcellent verbal and written communication skills â• aAbility to work independently, or within a team environment â• aTakes initiative on projects and assignments, seeks alternate solutions â• aAbility to meet time deadlines
