Position Description: Primary Responsibilities include: â• a Interpreting current US GAAP and providing accounting advice and support to Financial Services personnel and Business Units. â• a Drafting accounting policy for Financial Services Group and involvement in setting up AIG wide accounting policy. â• a Writing accounting policy memorandum. â• a Ensuring all accounting inquiries are addressed in a timely manner and are appropriately documented and communicated. â• a Establishing strong relationships with business units and within the Finance function. â• a Remaining current on emerging accounting issues and educating business units on applicable developments. Qualifications: The candidate must have extensive experience working on technical accounting issues and being able to deliver logical solutions to those issues. Other qualifications for this position include: â• a 8-10 year f experience in accounting with a strong preference for a technical accounting role. â• a CPA or equivalent. â• a Strong knowledge of US GAAP. â• a Knowledge of IFRS a plus. â• a Knowledge/experience in the Financial Services Industry. â• a Experience in FAS 133 Accounting for Derivative Instruments an Hedging Activities, FIN 46R Consolidation of Variable Interest Entities and FAS 140 Accounting for Transfers and Servicing of Financial Assets and Extinguishments of Liabilities as well as FAS 157 Fair Value Measurements and FAS 159 the Fair Value option. â• a Understanding of FAS 13, Leases, a plus. â• a Excellent verbal and written communication skills. â• a Strong analytical skills.
