Worlds Leading broker for exchange-traded futures and options seeks an Accounting and Reporting Manger for their Corporate Controllers Group. This company offers tremendous exposure and growth opportunity as well as excellent compensation and benefits packages. The well-qualified candidate will have a background in Big 4 or public accounting and/or relevant experience with a large financial services firm. Experience with or exposure to derivative products and the related FASB requirements 133 and 157 is a plus, as well as hands on experience with SEC reporting. CPA with Big 4 Accounting experience strongly preferred. Main responsibilities: Accounting Policy o Perform in depth research requests related to US GAAP Standards and other generally accepted accounting practices. Prepare initial response to accounting issue. o Assist in preparing accounting policies and procedures o Assist in defining general ledger accounts/SEC disclosures to guide local finance teams in completing their submissions o Assist in implementing new accounting pronouncements company wide o Assist in completing purchase accounting for acquisitions Manage fair value reporting o Liaison with heads of desk, price verification team, risk, and accounting policy team to ensure proper application of SFAS 157 to product portfolio o Prepare SEC disclosures and regular reporting of product portfolio to senior management Review preparation of SEC filings: o Assess impact of new complex pronouncements o Draft disclosures related to complex accounting issues or business transactions Key liaison with Global and Regional Controllers to resolve technical accounting questions o Work with Regional Technical Accountants o Assist in identifying and understanding differences between local and US GAAP Conduct research for CFO, CAO and Investor Relations o Requires communication with business functional heads (i.e. tax, treasury) and local finance teams o Assist in review of press release and other presentations to investors Integral role in special projects such as Creation of Global Accounting policy manual, quarterly road show presentations to local finance teams to provide ongoing guidance on Company policy and US GAAP updates Also assist other teams on Single GL, Management reporting tool, and internal control best practices when an external reporting or SEC focus is required. Personal qualities: Must be highly proficient with MS Office; advanced excel skills a plus Minimum of 5-8 years work experience; Some domestic and international travel may be required (less than 5%%); Big 4 experience required (with experience on SEC clients) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and reprioritize as needed
