Position Summary: The quality of the educational services we offer our families is dependent on the quality of the Tutors we hire. We are seeking outstanding Tutors to help our students improve their math, reading, writing and other academic skills. At SCORE!, we deliver academic progress in a fun learning environment that inspires our students to love learning. We begin every program with an assessment that results in a customized learning plan. Then, SCORE! Tutors use proven instructional methods to help kids excel. We keep students focused on progress with a motivational goal-setting and reward system designed to promote self-confidence. As a Tutor you will impact every child that attends our Center and be part of a team that is responsible for driving each childs academic progress, motivation and self confidence. Responsibilities: ? Deliver SCORE!s curriculum with our proven instructional methods in reading, math and writing ? Instruct and drive the academic progress of students aged 5 -18 in a 3:1 ratio ? Support your Center by providing outstanding service to our members ? Create and maintain a motivational and enthusiastic learning environment ? Interact with parents and discuss their childrens progress ? Provide instruction according to prepared Learning Plans ? Meticulously record student performance and track students progress ? Administer and score academic assessments ? Give and implement feedback effectively ? Participate in training sessions to learn and master SCORE! instructional methods ? Perform administrative tasks as necessary Qualifications: ? Previous experience working with students; classroom experience a plus ? Bachelors Degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher ? Demonstrated ability to explain challenging concepts in a motivating way ? Effective communication skills with students, parents and staff ? Relentlessly positive with students, parents and staff ? Ability to work at least 8 hours each week ? Weekday afternoons, evenings and/or weekend availability ? Excellent academic and overall role model ?
