Description: Dentist - Part/Time Mondays & Fridays Long Island City,NY This is a part-time position working on Mondays and Fridays. TASKS Performs dental services for residents including oral examinations, prophylaxis, fillings, extractions, endodontia, periodontal surgery, root canals, crowns and bridges; takes and interprets radiographs; performs follow-up services. Diagnoses dental condition, evaluates oral health, plans and provides treatment. Prescribes medicine and/or determines appropriate dosages for medication. Maintains and updates patient charts, records, and information. Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. SKILLS/ABILITY TO: apply dental techniques enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form. supervise others by assigning/directing work; conducting employee evaluations, staff training and development, taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions, making hiring/termination recommendations, etc. evaluate information against a set of standards operate applicable specialized equipment REQUIRED LICENSES Licensure as a dentist in the state of New York.
