Job Code: 1061 Division: Field - AE Location: LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, NY US Travel Involved: None/Not Specified Job Type: Part Time Job Level: Entry Education: High school diploma or equivalent/GED Category: Fleet Service Clerk Compensation: Position Summary: Our Fleet Service Clerks are responsible for loading and unloading cargo as well as transporting cargo to and from the aircraft. Fleet Service Clerks also clean and service cabin interiors with equipment and supplies by reaching, bending and twisting in confined spaces. Fleet Service Clerks hand clean the interior of aircraft including meal trays, lavatories, overhead storage bins and buffets. When cleaning and servicing cabin interiors Fleet Service Clerks will use powered equipment, such as cargoveyors, industrial tractors, forklifts, and motor scooters, etc., manually operated equipment such as hand trucks, lavatory service carts, cargo and baggage carts, specialized cleaning fluids and equipment; hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers for aircraft recouping; uses baggage and cargo scales. Fleet service clerks are also responsible for de-icing aircrafts and for pushing out/towing aircraft and related guideman functions. Requirements Ideal candidate must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. Minimum Age:18 Education/License:High school diploma or GED. Valid state drivers license. Citizenship:United States citizenship or if you possess the legal right to work in the U.S. Physical Requirements: Must be able to drive vehicles with gross weight of 3000 to 8000 lb. in areas congested with aircraft, moving and stationary vehicles and equipment as well as positioning vehicle up to aircraft requiring depth perception and the ability to distinguish color, red, green and yellow as well as judge distances. Ability to carry supplies weighing up to 75 lbs. on-board aircraft as well as lift refuse containers weighing up to 35-50 lbs is required. Training: Three to five weeks paid training (possibly away from home base). Uniforms: The Company will pay 50%% for the employees first uniform set and the employee shall pay 50%%. The employees portion will be payroll deducted. Salary:All Fleet Service Clerk wages are governed by the contract agreed upon between American Eagle and the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
