Hours of Work: 8:00am - 4:00pm; Days of Work: Variable Brief Description of Duties: Provide respiratory care for patients under the direction of a physician.

Make rounds to determine if patient is receiving proper respiratory care.

Draw and analyze blood for arterial blood gases.

Record respiratory progress of patients who are being ventilated mechanically.

Assist physicians in ventilating patients who cannot sustain their own respiratory functions during cardio-pulmonary arrests.

Provide sputum induction and pantamidine treatments.

Explain the use of respiratory care devices to patients and assist in the use thereof.

Make entries in patients? records, computer system and progress records.

Clean and decontaminate equipment once removed from patient use. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION Qualifications: NYS RT License and Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT) required; AAS and/or completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program required.
