Posting ID: IT/026752 This job is eligible for theRefer a Friendprogram. Description: The New York City Office of Northrop Grumman recently opened a new technology demonstration center. This center is intended to be a place where new application technology can be integrated with other solutions and presented to a multitude of customers. In its current form, the center is at its early stages. Over time, the center will grow to include technology solutions from across Northrop Grumman and from many of our strategic partners. This center will serve as a focal point for business in the New York metro area. Working in the technology development center, under the direction of Northrop Grumman’s Chief Wireless Technology Officer, you will be responsible for operating the center’s technical functions on a day to day basis. Duties include running the various switches, controllers, hand-held devices, video wall mounts, configuring complex multi-screen work stations, configuring wiring closet, and presenting demonstrations when needed. Along with the technical aspects of the position this person will be interacting with senior gov’t officials and senior business executives.

In addition to responsibilities within the demonstration center, technical associates may be required to provide sales support activities at various conferences, technical demonstrations, or alongside business development staff as they meet with clients and potential clients. In this capacity, technical staff will be required to take demonstration center capabilities onto the road. Staff working in the demonstration center are expected to have a wide range of technical skills with the ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills as required. At a minimum, an understanding of computer & server deployment and configuration is required. Experience with audio / visual systems such as Crestron or other similar devices is also necessary. Applicants should have a strong background in Windows based applications, having an understanding of Linux, and be comfortable with physical room configurations (everything from planning a network to running cable, to installing software onto a handheld device). Must have technical skill capabilities with streaming video, video switching equipment, 3d visualization and GIS. A working knowledge of Network Operating Centers and Integrated Command Centers a definite plus. Desired Qualifications: 4 years with Bachelors; 12 years with Masters This position will be housed in Brooklyn.Some relocation assistance may be available.
