Shop Foreman / 2nd shift. Busy Fleet shop is Seeking a Shop Foreman with experience as a Hands on Mechanic. Ability to manage and Delegate work to mechanics, Supervise Parts area. Must be computer literate, and not afraid to get your hands dirty when needed. Excellent Salary and Benefits, ASE Certification are a Plus. Job Description: MV`s Shop Foreman coordinates with the Director of Maintenance, and is responsible for scheduling, managing and monitoring the preventive maintenance program at our local operation and supervising all maintenance personnel. He is accountable for adequate staffing and supervision, as well as for the performance of the maintenance team regarding the performance standards outlined in the contract. This individual is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities for this contract. He coordinates with equipment manufacturers regarding warranty issues and specialized training needs, and manages the network of vendors/suppliers necessary to obtain outside repair work and ancillary services. Requirements . High school graduate or its equivalent. . 2 years of increasingly responsible journeyman, lead man, or supervisory experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of automotive and transit equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience. . Excellent knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and modifications of light and heavy gasoline, electric, and diesel powered automotive equipment, including transit vehicles, and related miscellaneous machinery. . Ability to use all types of auto machinist equipment and tools effectively in the repair or fabrication of mechanical equipment. . Able to supervise and evaluate subordinate employees and to provide for their training. . Must possess a Commercial Drivers License or the ability to obtain one. . Must be able to pass an employment physical examination (pre-employment or renewal) including a substance abuse screening. . Clean driving record. Alternate fuels experience is required.
