More information about this job: Job Description: The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Review retail exception reports and calls made to the Loss Prevention hotline and conduct investigations to resolve all issues. Conduct internal investigations that involve violations of corporate policy and associate theft. Investigate and resolve all incidents of cash loss greater than $200 following the preliminary verification of loss by performing cash audits and cash-outs to account for all of the money in a store and conducting deposit investigations. Implement Loss Prevention strategies and conduct Loss Prevention training to reduce shrink in the retail stores; ensure Loss Prevention activities within the Region are congruent with the Corporation's goals and objectives. Perform Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) audits by counting merchandise with EAS tags and matching those amounts to an established list of EAS items in the store. Perform Shrink Management Tool (SMT) audits and develop action plans to ensure that stores are in compliance. Conduct store visits to ensure compliance to retail safety regulations. Communicate Loss Prevention activities with the Regional Vice President (RVP), District Manager (DM), and Pharmacy District Manager (PDM); coordinate these activities with the Divisional Director, Loss Prevention. Maintain a log of bad checks passed within the region, reports on multiple offenders, and an alarm list to account for store alarms that are activated. Act as a liaison between the Corporation and various governmental agencies regarding loss prevention investigations, laws, and regulations. Conduct profit enhancement meetings to review shrink results and improve overall shrink performance within the Region; perform inventory investigations when shrink results are above established thresholds. Manage the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) program by ensuring that all stores have the proper equipment and that all equipment is operating accurately. Maintain building locks and control of keys to the retail stores. Remain knowledgeable of current statutory and case law. Review and approve Loss Prevention expenses. Perform and/or coordinate truck audits when requested by field supervisors.
Experience / Requirements: Minimum age of 21 years old to sell alcohol and tobacco. Ability to pass drug test. Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated. Ability to preserve confidentiality of information. Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency. Ability to work weekends and extended days on a frequent basis. Ability to work day or evening hours. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects. Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.
Education: Associate's degree (AA) in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or Business, plus five (5) years' experience in loss prevention; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
