Job Specifications Responsible for the effective movement of freight through the various shipping modes of the BB&B Logistics Network, from vendor shipping to store delivery. The manager will work to minimize any shipping issues which may occur before the freight is delivered to the store. This position will assist in managing third party warehouse operators, pool distribution and LTL carriers, with a focus on carton thru-put and cross docking, vendor issue/resolution, minimize demurrage, carrier tracking and communication, ensuring product flows in accordance with BB&B/3PL contracts and in accordance with store operations requirements. Primary Responsibility: Managing the third party logistics operator for Pool Distribution Reviewing operational report cards ensuring operator is exceeding Key Performance Indicators Resolve (KPI) failures and repetitive issues Improve transit ensuring freight delays are recognized and resolved (from pick up, linehaul, facility dwell) Reduce free astray percentages ensuring operator is processing freight to minimize the impact of split shipments to the stores Research and resolve OS&D issues including vendor packaging, linehaul handling, etc Responsible for LTL carrier activity for the freight forwarder and local market. The specific functions mirror the above descriptions with an emphasis on delivery/ carrier KPIs. Resolve and communicate any issues with Store Operations that may or may not be reported through normal channels. Conduct on site visits with the LTL carriers to ensure all aspects of that delivery service are met. Trouble-shoot any ongoing issues with a particular carrier to a quick resolution. Job Requirements Candidate must be able to travel about 40%%. Must have knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, including transportation, distribution, warehouse operations and customer service. Knowledge of domestic freight inbound and outbound procedures Works independently Great communication skills A combination of operational (execution), logistics and computer literacy needed.
