Company seeking a full time Senior Computer Engineer-Computer Operations in northern Bergen county, to be responsible for providing support and administration for all storage and server infrastructure throughout the company enterprise.

Responsibilities: * Responsible for providing support and administration for all storage and server infrastructure throughout the company enterprise. * Ensure that Server and Storage environments are proactively supported to address business problems and requirements. * Leverage best practices, technology advancements and implemented telemetry to provide maximum availability of compute resources. *Continually analyze the environment for areas of improvement and drive maximum efficiency for all compute infrastructures. * Be a key member of the team providing support for all elements of the storage and server infrastructure throughout the company. * Provide storage and server support in all areas of hardware, software, platforms and applications. * Ensure that all call details are fully logged in the call logging system and updated as appropriate. * Installation, distribution, configuration and support of all server and storage software components. * Build sufficient understanding of the business to ensure that IT solutions are relevant. * Work to agreed Service Levels. * Work Proactively towards the continual improvement of IT services. * Partner with Technical Account Managers to facilitate customer needs. * To work closely with all support teams and to escalate problems to them when appropriate * Work in close conjunction with the Global IT teams. * Adhere to the company IT standards, procedures and internal audit guidelines. * Be responsible for configuration, maintenance and monitoring of the server and storage Infrastructure for all internal customers. * Provide telephone support on an 'out of hours' basis, and to be available to attend site when required to provide a fast and effective solution to faults or problems affecting the business.

Qualifications: A minimum of 5 years relevant IT support experience in: * EMC Clarion, NetApp storage hardware/software. * MS Windows 2000 and 2003 server (including strong operational knowledge of Active Directory). * Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris or IBM AIX operating systems. * Install and configure EMC Clariion, NetApp, Brocade and McData fiber switches. * Configuration Powerpath and Emulex/Qlogic HBA's. * Provision storage to Redhat Linux, Windows 2003, SUN Solaris or IBM AIX Operating Systems. * Troubleshooting storage availability, connectivity and performance issues from the filesystem through to the physical drive. Desired Skills: * Backup and restore methodologies around Commvault. * Isilon, HP EVA, Veritas, Remote support tools, Server Virtualization (i.e. VMware) * Exposure to/ interest in: Oracle (v7x, 8x, and 9x), SQL (2000/2003), IIS, AIX, SCO Linux * Security and patch management (eg. Linux satellite services, MS SUS, Patchlink pro, NetChkPro) * Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision. * Able to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply knowledge to real-world problems; effective under aggressive timelines and high-pressure situations. * Excellent written and verbal communications; effective interpersonal skills; strong formal presentation abilities. * Six Sigma or similar data-driven quality skills Proactive Thinker / Self Starter, Team Player, Ability to work under pressure, Innovative thinker. * The ability to multi-task and complete assignments to meet deadlines. * Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. * Customer Service focus with Strong communication skills. * B.S. degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent work experience. * Compaq/HP server hardware/software (including Smartstart and Insight Manger) * Assist with the creation of standards and procedures governing the install, configuration and operation of all storage devices. * Assist with the continuous analysis of the groups' processes to drive efficiencies. * TCPIP and IPX/SPX * Dell/ IBM server hardware * Network infrastructures (LAN and WAN) * Minimum 5 years experience working with Compute solutions within a large enterprise. * Produce metrics for Senior Management in order to gauge the effectiveness of the group. * MS Windows Clustering services
