Description: Temporary full time Quality Auditor for Co-packer

General: The Quality Auditor will be responsible for monitoring packaging of croutons at a Co-packer for a food company. The co-packer is located in South Hackensack, New Jersey. The assignment will begin in September and continue through December 2008. General duties will include monitoring food safety practices, weight control, package integrity, and assuring correct code dates and package appearance. The Quality Auditor would have the ability to place product on hold/and/or shut down production line operation due to product quality issues. Job Responsibilities: 1. Monitoring Food Safety a. Monitor site compliance to basic Good Manufacturing Practices including Personnel Practices, Pest Control, Sanitation, and Contamination Control. b. Notify plant management if non-compliance is noted. 2. Weight Control a. Oversee on line weight control activities. b. Insure operators are performing weight control per specified frequencies and procedures. c. Check weight control data for accuracy. d. Periodically weigh products. e. Periodically check calibration on weigh scales. 3. Package Integrity and code dates. a. Insure package is properly sealed. b. Check package condition for damage during filling and case packing operations. c. Insure proper code dates are being placed on package and shipping case. d. Insure code dates are applied and legible. 4. Package Appearance a. Check package graphics for any misprints. b. Check package for graphics placement, scuffing, wrinkling et cetera
