Panasonic is seeking a full time Sr. Account Manager for Panasonic Battery Corporation of America located in Secaucus, New Jersey.

This position is responsible for assuring maintenance of existing accounts and for new business development in multiple account areas.

Solicits and maintains favorable contact with current and potential accounts.

Develop sales of product by identifying and meeting customer requirements. Coordinates sales negotiations and administrative support with appropriate sales, product management, engineering, marketing and finance personnel.

Provides information for forecasting market sales and assists in developing departmental budgets.

Accountabilities

MAINTAIN EXISTING BUSINESS: Maintain and expand current business through effective support, service, account management and sales promotion.

ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITY: Assume total account(s) responsibility, including service, credit and delivery.

COMMUNICATION: Maintain communication with product management to assure customer support and engineering assistance. Recommends stock levels and requests for new products to meet customer needs.

Works with Product Management for special pricing to meet competitive levels or specialty targeting markets (does not set pricing).

PLANNING/FORECASTING: Assists in developing annual and mid-range strategic business plans as it pertains to assigned account(s).

MANAGEMENT:

SALES REVENUE: The revenue will vary depending on accounts assigned, product and territory. Each division will decide according to business plan acceptable sales revenue level.

EXPENSE CONTROL: Responsible for maintaining expenditures and inventories within set limits, as well as responsibility for budgets to the extent authorized.

PROBLEM-SOLVING/KNOW HOW:(complexity of problems and education/experience & other knowledge required)

A college degree with a technical background in marketing/sales is preferred.

Eight or more years of industry specific account management, sales and marketing experience as it pertains to the business unit product(s) and/or customers.

Strong interpersonal relationship building skills are essential.

A good understanding of PIC and division policies and procedures is desired.

Ability to travel as required of the position.

This position is a work from home environment.

COMMUNICATIONS: (key communications contacts and level of persuasion required) Strong written, negotiation, and oral communication capabilities, including major presentations to high-level internal/external contacts, are required.
