Currently, the Panasonic Computer Solutions Company (PCSC), maker of Toughbook laptop computers, is seeking an Product Engineer 2 to provide technical support to Sales, Service, and end users.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT Analyze, test, and provide solutions for customer applications and issues related to software used with Panasonic Personal Computer Solutions products.

Analyze customer requirements to recommend most appropriate Panasonic solution.

Serve as final escalation point for Service and Hotline in resolving customer problems when escalated to insure timely resolution.

Assist in pre-sales situations with on-site (potentially 30-50%%) technical assistance as required.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT Support ITPD / Factory in software development constantly testing new versions of software across all products to verify there are no compatibility issues and customer needs are met.

Working closely with all PCSC Product Engineers and ITPD Software Project Leaders for future customer requirements and current issues are resolved across all Toughbook products (BIOS, EC, applications).

Software testing throughout the different stages of product development to make sure there are no issues and future customer needs are met.

Provide training on software updates Panasonic or 3rd party to Sales, Service, Configuration Center, resellers, and end users as required.

Manage problems escalated to ITPD / Factory to insure resolution.

Assist in managing software issues and technical support at the production level.

ITPD / Factory in different technical assistance to support end user, hotline, field service, and third parties as needed.

Bringing together existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together.

QUALITY ASSURANCE Testing new applications Panasonic or 3rd party to find and resolve issues.

Perform compatibility test and inspection of engineering samples and mass production to assure products meet PCSC standards and report incoming quality to ITPD / Factory for ongoing product improvement.

Provide assistance to ITPD / Factory and third parties through thorough, fact-based analysis.

CONFIGURATION CENTER SUPPORT Help improve Config. Center QA utilities for each product per option by updating utilizes as needed (GPS, WAN, Bluetooth etc..)

LEADERSHIP Insure subordinates? tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and complete way.

Manage resources to insure Sales objectives are effectively supported in a cost-effective manner.

Provide guidance to subordinates. Management; Exercise professional technical judgement in evaluating new products, computer hardware, and software that may not be performing as desired. Familiarity with computer hardware, software, OS(Windows XP, Vista) to quickly troubleshoot issues. BS in Computer engineering or Electrical Engineering.
