Description: US-NJ-Secaucus The Manager Financial Analysis and Planning manages and leads the financial analysis reporting and planning function for a Business Unit (BU), Practice or national Area. This individual is responsible for selections of staff; the mentoring and development of an assigned group; and the interpretation of financial results, report generation and cost analysis. This individual identifies business trends; recommends courses of action to management; and leads the implementation of advances in technology and software to meet changing business needs. This individual may also support the design, implementation, and ongoing development of firmwide annual financial planning processes, as well as the integration of firmwide operational planning processes into the overall Annual Plan process. This professional provides decision support to the practice, the finance and technology groups and other firm management. Responsibilities Provide leadership for the Financial Analyst group in the BU, or Practice Area. Prepare, review and consolidate annual budgets and outlooks. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and assist in tracking expenditures in order to operate within approved budget guidelines. Develop firmwide planning information and guidelines for communication to the BU’s in preparation of their annual plans and financial outlooks. Manage the preparation and reporting of the financial plans and outlooks for senior leadership. Work with practice and BU leadership to provide financial analyses and support in developing their financial plans. Assist in the reporting of monthly financial results to senior management. Prioritize tasks to accomplish firm or business unit goals and objectives. Provide guidance, direction, and counseling for the Analyst group. Mentor and train individuals to master tasks of increasing complexity. Implement/participate in driving key Area and firm initiatives that involve process or procedural change for the organization. Provide basic training and soft skills for Financial Analysts assigned. Provide data and interpretation of financial results, including statistical analysis, written communications and oral presentations. Assist in the education of client serving individuals and Financial Management Associates (FMAs). Maintain high employee morale that includes encouraging teamwork and building strong internal and external client relationships. Create and implement best practices for process improvement. Assist in the month end Profit and Loss close. Assist with the preparation and analysis of confidential information. Investigate capabilities of software upgrades to improve reporting function. Perform other duties assigned, as required.
