Job Description :

The New York Red Bulls are one of 14 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). They currently play their home matches at Giants Stadium located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey but plan on moving to their new home,RedBullPark, in 2009.

RedBullPark, a state-of-the-art 25,000 seat stadium, will be one of the top soccer stadiums in the country and will be theNew Yorkareas home for professional soccer.

Formerly the MetroStars, the team has been in the league since its inaugural season in 1996. In the spring of 2006, the team was sold to Red Bull, and the name changed to the New York Red Bulls.

The Director of Marketing (DM) focuses on developing, implementing and leading short and long term brand building strategies and initiatives for RBNY both locally and nationally. This is accomplished through a cooperative effort amongst the strategic partners within the organization, including but not limited to the: VP of Marketing & Sales, VP of Communications, and the Director of Ticket Sales. Together, a balance is struck between the local necessities required to build the local market, and the nation-wide brand building strategies that support more macro objectives.

In order to be successful in this role, the DM must possess the ability to analyze, and prepare a budget. S/he must be able to project and forecast marketing program costs based on industry and historical data.

The DM must be accomplished at managing these processes over a wide geographic territory. The job holder must be skilled at recruiting, hiring, training, and managing a full marketing department.

This position requires a dynamic, professional, energetic, creative leader with a successful marketing and management track record (preferred) in collegiate, minor league and/or professional sports. This position represents one of the key roles within the framework of the Red Bulls franchise structure, responsible for helping the franchise meet its financial goals while delivering the highest levels of customer service.
