The goal of the Vocational Rehabilitation Case Manager is to ensure claimants are receiving appropriate services in order to return-to-work and normal activity in a timely manner. This is accomplished through the review and analysis of a caseload of claims to identify potential candidates for Vocational Services. In addition to identification of candidates for vocational rehabilitation services, the Vocational Rehab Case Manager coordinates and directs the vocational rehabilitation plans for each assigned individual to ensure appropriate services are received. This role is responsible for the education and training of claims managers on the appropriate use of vocational services in the management of claims. Responsibilities: * Reviews and researches pending claims to identify potential candidates for Vocational Case Management services; implements plans deemed appropriate by claims managers and Vocational Case Management staff * Provides professional vocational and personal counseling, via written and telephonic communication with claimants, to facilitate participation in a vocational rehabilitation program * Communicate regularly with claims personnel, claimants, employers, and treating sources both orally and in writing to affect a positive vocational rehabilitation outcome * Encourage the referral process of possible Vocational Case Management candidates through education of claims personnel. Qualifications: * Requires thorough knowledge of all aspects of vocational rehabilitation and the medical/functional implications. * Ability to perform comprehensive vocational assessments, job analyses, work site evaluations, job modifications, transferable skills analyses, and labor market surveys as these relate to developing and directing rehabilitation plans. * Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (or related field), and national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) &/or Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS). * Experience in Vocational Rehabilitation desired.
