Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial Operations, the incumbent is responsible for developing commercialization strategies and execution of these strategies for Biologics products.

The candidate will serve as the lead commercial voice on the Product Development Team and will work closely with the management team and Product team members as well as commercial colleagues worldwide. The successful candidate will have a breadth of marketing experience particularly with biologic products and a strong track record of self motivation with an entrepreneurial mindset. They will also have demonstrated the ability to work in rapidly changing environments, and should have the ability and willingness to make rapid and well informed decisions. Specific responsibilities will include development of commercial strategies including pricing / access, budget planning, competitive analysis, monitoring and action plan, and commercial input to Product Development Team(s). Candidate will work closely with the biologics functions within Merck. Success in the role will be measured on the degree to which the assigned products can be rapidly developed in a cost efficient manner to maximize commercial. Position requires up to 25%% travel.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: * Bachelor Degree required * MBA degree strongly preferred Required: * Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry * Entrepreneurial mindset focused on achieving goals in rapid and cost-efficient manner * Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills * Strong science and analytical skills * Proven ability to work in uncertain environments and ability to solve complex and ambiguous challenges * Ability to form strong cross-divisional and intra-divisional relationships * Ability and high comfort level working with multiple stakeholders to achieve goals Desired: * Commercial background in Biologics market place or equivalent experience (i.e. Oncology or blood product experience, etc) * Commercial experience with biotech products * Experience with Marketing principles and SCOPE or marketing tools Consistently cited as a great place to work, we discover, develop, manufacture and market a wide range of vaccines and medicines to address unmet medical needs.
