Under the direction of the Senior Director, Intranet CoE, the incumbent is responsible for leadership in the development and implementation of IT business solutions to support the Merck Intranet. He/she is responsible for working with leaders across the organization to identify opportunities and innovations to support the Merck Intranet strategy and realize one.merck.com. The incumbent will be responsible for management of the portfolio for the intranet, including development of strong business cases for IT investment. In addition, he/she supervises Program Managers and Business Analysts in leading the implementation of these change initiatives. The incumbent applies his/her knowledge of IT and business architecture, IT trends, and operational excellence to drive the adoption of information, technology and business process to enable innovation and support Enterprise initiatives. Primary Activities: The Director, Account Management Intranet CoE is responsible for developing and managing an IT Portfolio consisting of Business Cases which identify the required investments and anticipated business value of the initiatives required to realize the overall Intranet strategy. He/she is responsible for partnering with business clients to develop and manage business requirements and program implementation plans. He/she ensures that Delivery Services understands these requirements and plans in order to effectively manage the delivery of Intranet solutions to his/her clients. He/she oversees program implementation and is ultimately responsible for the realization of the business benefits identified in the Portfolio.

Qualifications

Required: BS required preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, HCI, or related field. Advanced degrees in Business Management, Information Systems or Engineering are desired. Working knowledge and experience with Six Sigma, CMMI, and IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL is desired.. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years in a client facing role with experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing IT plans and strategies, identifying business requirements for IT solutions, and managing programs and projects. Demonstrated success leading small and large complex global projects and the ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment is required. Proven leadership and people management skills are required, along with the ability to develop and maintain complex relationships, manage communications, and articulate business strategies with senior leaders. Demonstrated ability to analyze and define business problems, identify appropriate technological solutions, develop and present a sound business case, and to closely manage to a dynamic budget is essential. Must be able to represent the CoE and its user experience approach to ensuring adoption and ROI. Desired:

Advanced degrees in business management, information systems, engineering are desired. Working knowledge and experience with Six Sigma, CMMI, and IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL is desired. Education Requirement:
