The Development Operations Group (PDO) is the home of clinical study management, clinical study monitoring and data management resources within Roche Development. The US Affiliate in Clinical Operations (PDOA-USA) has staff in Nutley, New Jersey as well as a Regional Monitoring group located in home-based offices around the US. It also has a group in Nutley called the Business Support group which is chartered with partnering and supporting the in-house study teams and the Regional Monitoring Group. The mission of the US Affiliate is to provide input to and be accountable for planning and conducting high quality clinical programs in the US that meet specified scientific, medical, regulatory and commercial needs. Basic Function The Finance and Resourcing Associate is a member of the Finance & Resourcing team (F&R) under the Business Support Group within the Affiliate division. This team is responsible/accountable for supporting the project and leadership teams with financial budget management of fixed costs and optimization of resource planning and usage. The person in this position will work closely with members of two or more therapeutic teams to define accurate resource allocation, support the team with the systems to track progress of clinical trials, train them on financial processes, and apply knowledge of the systems to support the project-oriented CSMs and COAs in the following areas:

Principal Responsibilities * Coordinate with the plan owners the analysis of timelines, resources, status of completion of tasks, and alignment with study plan * Assign resources to each plan and update timelines in PPS * Review Regional FTE report for planned resources of the field monitors and analyze data for accuracy of resources * Review Managers FTE report for planned and actual work assignments for each plan and discuss any need to revise planned work with the appropriate plan owner * Perform monthly analysis of Planned vs. Actual variance for all Inflammation and Virology teams * Assist Functional Manager and TL with planned resources and timelines for forecasting rounds * Coordinate and review timesheet completion and compliance for corrective action by individual team members * Support Inflammation and Virology teams and Pharma Development Finance on data queries and analysis * Provide support and training to Inflammation and Virology teams in understanding financial data, classification of expenses, financial systems and related reports * Train CSMs and COAs on the use of GRC reports to insure that site grants are opened, grant balances cover planned activities, and payments are made * Review and analyze quarterly PVCs variances to assist the Inflammation and Virology teams in the forecast, accrual, and financial reporting process; provide trend analysis * Train study teams on specific Goblet modules * Research and select best tracking reports for compliance * Generate and/or review systems reports * Provide Functional Manager and TL with regular status updates of work in progress * Seek opportunities to automate and streamline internal processes * Ad hoc analysis and project involvement as required Reporting Structure The position will report directly to the Manager of Finance & Resourcing and indirectly to the Inflammation and Virology Team Leaders within PDOA-US.Who you are: You’re someone who wants to influence your own development.
