More information about this job: Overview: Join a fast-paced Information Systems department that is rapidly globalizing the companys suite of applications to support international business operations. The Information Systems department, located in North Bergen New Jersey, is responsible for the world-wide deployment of all business applications and technology infrastructure across the companys Direct Brands.

Responsibilities: . Provide production support for all retail systems . Work with the business users to gather functional requirements . Analyze requirements and create functional specifications . Design technical and application architecture specifications . Create technical specifications . Create/enhance/modify extract transform and load programs . Perform program and unit testing . Performance-tune Business Intelligence reporting applications . Create user documentation . Assist with projects and complete development activities including unit testing and user acceptance testing as assigned by Manager . Follow methodology and complete deliverables according to project schedule . Communicate effectively with external vendors and other project teams to resolve production issues, upgrades, and software evaluations. . Knowledge transfer, empowering user and other groups with information necessary to optimize system functionality.

Required Skills: . Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering and 3-5 years of related hands-on work experience . Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills . Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Excellent interpersonal skills and team player attitude . Strong organizational skills (coordinate multiple job assignments at one) . Highly-motivated, show initiative and be results oriented . Eager to learn new technologies . Able to work independently with minimum supervision . Ability to resolve conflicts independently . Experience in apparel retail or wholesale development . Ability to work outside regular business hours (including weekends and holidays). Available to be on-call to support international business community. . Strong business ethics PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: . Retail Experience . Overseas travel experience (Europe, Asia) . Experience in large, corporate IS environment

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED (software, languages, etc.): . Oracle PL/SQL (must) . UNIX shell scripting (must) . HTML and JavaScript (must) . Window OS (a plus) . Knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting tools - MicroStrategy or Cognos (preferred) . Data Modeling (a plus) . ProC (a plus) . Visual Basic (a plus) . SQR (a plus) . Apache and Tomcat (a plus) .
