Description: Engineer - Electric Delivery Location Corporate Headquarters - Newark NJ (0014) Job Function University Recruiting No. of Positions 8 Job Description PSE&G is looking for 2009 college graduates with Electrical and Civil Engineering degrees to work in Transmission and Distribution related activities of the utility. These positions will be located in Newark and may involve rotational assignments at field locations throughout New Jersey. Positions will be assigned based on business need, ability, interest and academic background. PSE&G is New Jerseys oldest and largest electric and gas utility serving over 2 million customers throughout the states most densely populated central corridor. PSE&G - Electric Delivery owns and operates over 250 switching stations and substations at voltage ranges from 4,000 volts to 500,000 volts interconnected via a high voltage transmission system that covers most of the state. Job duties and responsibilities include: ? Perform engineering studies, technical analysis and interpretation of data. ? Perform Load Flows and System Simulation / Response Studies. ? Prepare equipment and installation specifications and standards for new equipment or replacement of failed / obsolete existing equipment. ? Expand knowledge of PSE&G operations through Company development programs and on-the-job training. ? Oversee special projects involving technical, field personnel, consultants, and contractors. ? Administer Company/Union labor agreements in accordance with Company policy. ? Provide technical assistance in implementing special programs, new equipment and new. techniques. ? Provide technical support and problem resolution for existing equipment/technologies. Required: 2007, 2008 or 2009 Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power background, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited institution. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and strong proficiency in PC applications such as Excel and PowerPoint. Candidate must be results-oriented and have a "can do" aptitude to learn varied skills and to easily transfer knowledge to day-to-day work. Candidate must be able to interface effectively with a diverse organization and have excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and safe driving record, and must maintain and apply a working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet managements expectations for effective internal business controls. Desired: Candidates should have effective hands-on problem-solving and decision-making, and strong planning and organizing skills.
