Description: Our client is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Newark, is the states largest health insurer. There goal is the same as it has been since 1932 - to provide individuals and employers in New Jersey with convenient access to quality health care, wherever they live or work.

Our client is looking for a Director of Claims Processing for a permanent opportunity. In this integral role, you will oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of our claims processing applications and support utilities with an emphasis on championing system improvements and changes.

Responsibilities will include:

" Developing a team of 80 employees tasked with critical enterprise applications " Implementing and executing strategic plans for system enhancements across all divisions and subsidiaries " Championing opportunities for processing system performance improvement " Overseeing development activities, automated systems, data integrity and level III production support " Defining, testing and implementing changes across all division and subsidiary platforms " Evaluating software performance and identifying new technologies in response to growth and other changing needs " Ensuring compliance with established service levels, with a special focus on data security " Developing positive and supportive relationships with internal/external parties including the claims processing team, vendors, outsourced talent, other departmental leads and the CIO

Position Requirements:

" PMP certification required " You must be a strong leader, good decision maker and proven project manager with a BS degree " 20+ years of information processing experience in the healthcare sector. " At least five years must be in a director-level role that provided exposure to the complexities of HIPAA regulations, healthcare claims management/reimbursement, NASCO, EDI and electronic medical records. " Experience with healthcare industry claims processing systems/software, life cycle development processes and IT outsourcing is equally essential. You must have a significant amount of experience with either QNXT or NASCO " Specific technical skills should also include the management of large-scale applications on midrange and mainframe servers running MVS, UNIX and Windows 2003. " The preferred candidate will also have an advanced degree, Academy for Healthcare Management designation " Strong track record of major implementation plans, and knowledge of large transactional systems (i.e. billing).
