SUMMARY Engineer with 3-5 years of proven experience in LAN/WAN and Systems Administration including: network design, implementation, migrating and upgrading, security, backup, archiving, maintenance and troubleshooting. The Engineer works with both end users and project teams to insure proper configuration of hardware and software systems. Also, it is expected that they can play a lead role for projects that primarily focus on establishing infrastructure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): • Engagement Delivery o Makes every effort possible to execute and complete assigned projects and tasks within the constraints of time, scope, and budget for the project / task o Mentors and communicates effectively with both end user and associates about how to make proper technical decisions on projects and tasks o Participates in the delivery of end user solutions by estimating, planning, and designing, implementing, and testing. o Understands, analyzes, and documents end user technical environments and business requirements o Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in a way that maximizes end user value o Provides infrastructure support as required on projects (e.g. installations, backups) o Provides capacity planning and performance tuning if needed • Technology and Infrastructure Engineering o Educates others on engineering disciplines that pertain to Infrastructure (e.g. configuration management, capacity planning, security) o Performs technology/tool evaluations and software technical proof of concepts o Educates end users on the value of infrastructure engineering disciplines o Revises methodology standards with new and improved practices • Other responsibilities include: o Represents values to other associates and end users o Shares knowledge with others o Ability to write technical documentation pertaining to systems for end user training and knowledge transfer o Ability to serve as project lead on end user engagements for infrastructure focused initiatives o Support of company infrastructure as needed All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States.
