This major industrial complex runs over 240 kb/d of crude oil producing petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, heating oil and jet fuel serving the New York metropolitan area.%%0A %%0A Description%%0A %%0A The Corrosion Engineer provides engineering support in the areas of metallurgy, corrosion, welding, and pressure containing equipment design.%%0A %%0A Responsibilities%%0A %%0A The Corrosion Engineer may be responsible for: %%0A%%0A%%0A * Providing practical, economical solutions to metallurgical, corrosion, and welding problems that arise in the refinery, including the selection and fabrication of materials, corrosion control, and maintaining the integrity of pressure containing systems%%0A * Assuring compliance with codes, standards, and industry practices required in the construction and/or repair of pressure vessels, piping, and other pressure containing equipment%%0A * Performing fitness for service evaluations and risk-based analyses of pressure containing equipment%%0A * Conducting failure investigations and corrosion studies on systems and equipment%%0A * Reviewing an/or specifying material selections, welding, non-destructive examination (NDE), and heat treatment requirements proposed for new construction and repair of facilities%%0A * Assembling, editing, and issuing work requests for inspection of equipment during shutdowns%%0A * Selecting non-destructive testing equipment and techniques for inspection and troubleshooting of refinery equipment%%0A * Consulting with project engineers for projects and reviewing the design packages for compliance to applicable codes and standards%%0A * Coordinating department activities in absence of the supervisor.%%0A
