Description: 2705 Technical Operator Location Linden Generating Station - Linden NJ (0007) Job Function Craftworkers No. of Positions 1 Job Description Maintains, tests, repairs, troubleshoots, calibrates and installs instruments, controls and electrical equipment in the plant. When trained, perform Mechanical Operator functions on any and all plant equipment up to the intermediate level of skill. Clear, tag, tape, test, release, make ready, perform operating tests, inspections and adjustments on equipment to secure proper operating conditions in conjunction with work assignments. Install, repair and adjust burners in and out of service. Operate Company passenger cars and pick-up trucks or equivalent. Required: Must be able to acquire a thorough knowledge in a reasonable time period of the principles of instruments and control apparatus and electrical power equipment in a reasonable time period.; the heat cycle of the station in which he/she is located; the location and function of station equipment. Must be able to acquire a State of New Jersey Boiler Operator in Charge (Black Seal) License and obtain any certificates or licenses required by Federal, State, or local authority in a reasonable time period. The training will be paid for and provided by the Company and changes shall be subject to Article X.B. of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Must be able to read write, speak and understand English. Must have successfully completed the POSS/MOSS pre-employment tests except that an employee hired prior to May 1, 1977 who has or obtains a high school diploma or its equipment does not have to complete the pre-employment tests. THIS IS A SHIFT POSITION. The successful applicant for this position has no right to return to his/her former position unless specifically provided for by Union contract.
