Senior Linux Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and driven Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for a candidate with a combination of great analytical, technical, and communication skills. Primary Responsibilities:

* Responsibilities include analyzing/fixing Linux kernel and application bugs, implementing new Linux features/functionality, serving as the liaison for Linux bug fixes and feature enhancements * Responsibilities also include vetting Linux bug fixes, enhancements, and new features with Linux vendor * Evaluating various hardware and software products * 3rd level production escalation Required skills * Required skills include general Linux system debug and operational knowledge. Linux community involvement is a plus. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. * Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong oral and written communication skills essential. * Ability to work well within a team environment. * RedHat Linux 2.1/3/4/5 * Host level Storage/SAN knowledge: EMC, Emulex, Veritas DMP * Strong x86 hardware knowledge are a must * Veritas: Volume Manager, File System, Cluster Server * Programming/Scripting: shell (csh/ksh/bash), perl * Experience with Kickstart / pxe * Experience with Open-Source software, compiling software * VMware ESX: Hands on knowledge and troubleshooting * Xen virtualization a plus * Performance tuning a must * Working knowledge of NAS and SAN technologies. Preferably experience with NetApp and EMC DMX * An attention to detail and commitment to thoroughness and follow-up * A commitment to thorough and timely documentation * Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, familiarity with common networking devices, and the ability to use tools such as SNMP and TCPdump to monitor activity, diagnose problems, and optimize performance * Strong understanding of and ability to implement clustering and other high availability methods * C, C++ programming knowledge to hack kernels a big plus
