Description: Risk Management Operations Job Description The Undetermined Securities Teams (Blue-i) overall objective is to research Blue-i securities and conclude a status. The status will either be Permitted or Restricted. In either case, the Manager of the group verifies the results and completes the conclusion. A secondary team function is to update/correct GEMS whenever required. When a PwC Partner or Employee searches and updates a Blue-i security in his/her MyPortfolio pre-clearance or actual holding interface, the Blue-i sub-system of GEMS receives that security’s status real time. Additionally, Blue-i securities are sometimes placed in the GEMS sub-system by PFP or Pre-hire Independence Office staff, or by any Independence Office staff under the source code of ‘OTHER’. The Team begins the research process. This Specialist level position is responsible for providing heavy, critical securities research support within the Blue-i group. The security research conducted is time sensitive and may vary between both domestic and international. The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: * Thoroughly check Bloomberg. If necessary send requests for assistance to theservice’s Help Desk. * Check Frisk to see if the issuer is listed as an audit client. * Thoroughly check the Internet for all the sites that may have information,e.g. Factiva, D & B, exchanges’ web sites, financial info sites, Edgar, SEDAR, etc. If there is contact info for the company, attempt to get the auditor info directly from the company. * Thoroughly check GEMS to see if there is any chance that an entity existsthat is related in some way to the undetermined security. For any entity that is close to being related, send an email to the Responsible Partner and the engagement team updater. * When appropriate, send an email to the PRI for help in determining whetheror not the issuer is an audit client. * When necessary, send an email to the individual holding the security inhis/her portfolio or pre-clearance for information. * Send an email to Standard & Poors contacts, in order to find the currentstatus of the security (i.e. to the best of their knowledge, is it still an active business).

Should be proficient at performing business and investment-related research. Knowledge of Internet is required, and strong Internet financial web search capability will be expected. Knowledge and expertise in Bloomberg services is a plus. Strong foundation of publicly traded securities knowledge. Knowledge of quasi-governmental securities regulatory agencies such as Edgar (US SEC) and Sedar (Canadian-CSA) is a plus. Highly motivated, detail oriented, and interested in developing new skills. Flexible; ability to work well independently and as a team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to research pertinent industry, regulation, and technical matters. Able to prioritize, organize, and multi-task. Mature, responsible attitude and the ability to interact successfully with PwC professionals.
