Job Description:

Serves as Producer/Director of assigned productions evaluating and interpreting users’ needs, assessing communication objectives and strategic priorities, developing information from content specialists and developing a creative and production treatment to ensure project meets the Institute’s strategic goals and initiatives.

Responsible for conceiving and producing innovative programs for marketing, professional training, public relations, documentaries, video news releases, and corporate communications. Producer/Director is a hands-on position and will require development of the creative design of a program and all aspects of production with the approval of the Director of MMG. Manages completion of projects within estimated timeframes, budget constraints and quality control measures.

Interfaces with the company senior management and executive staff as well as state societies and members. Candidate must have the ability to work well in a team environment.

The Producer/Director will coordinate production with freelancers, assigned writers (when needed), graphic designers, studio crew and participants in the production. Provides creative direction as well as oversees technical execution during all phases of production. Ensures ongoing communication about project status within the team.

Skills required include scriptwriting, interviewing, directing video crews, and all phases of post production. Hands on experience in non-linear editing, Photoshop, and After Effects a plus. Stays current with all new equipment and software and provides support and hands-on training to other staff as needed Job Requirements: * 6+ years experience as a Producer/Director in a multimedia facility. * Experienced in all phases of production and equipment/software, non-linear on-line editing, interface design for web, CD-ROM, and DVD authoring, media compression for web, CD-ROM, animation, music composition and sound design. * Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts in Television or Film studies; technical experience in related field will be considered in lieu of degree. * Excellent written and oral communication skills.
